  • Welcome to my blog!

I'm Lexi Wharem, a portrait photographer located in Lake Wales, FL. I am a mother of a sweet babe named Lucy that keeps me on my toes and reminds me daily what is truly important and beautiful in this life. I started Greenprint Photography in 2009 when I discovered my passion for photography and this is my journey, it's all here on this good ol' blog. Hope you enjoy what you see! I do my best to post new photos often, so be sure to come back often and let me know what you think...

Before + After

I get a lot of questions about Photoshop editing, so I’ve decided to start a series here on the blog sharing some before and after photos.  I’ll also be sharing some of the actions I use to take a before image (also known as SOOC, or Straight out of the camera) to the after, or final image.

Here’s my first share using a photo I took of Lucy a few days ago.  We found a shady spot under a tree and it was early evening so the sun was nice and low, providing us with beautiful light and color.

The first thing I did was lighten the overall image using the Pioneer Woman’s ‘Slight Lighten’ action. Then, to achieve the warm, vintage tone, I ran a CoffeeShop action called ‘Caramel Dreams’.  Finally, I sharpened the face just a tad with a Paint the Moon action called ‘Pop it on the spot’.

What do you think? Do you prefer more ‘natural’ images, or do you like a more creative, photoshopped look?  I’d love your feedback!

I love both! The socc is gorgeous, but I love the tweaking!

I love both. Your talent shows before the pic was even touched with Photoshop. I think I prefer the first.

I love the caramel dreams action tint on this photo! Love the SOCC too!

No doubt your socc is great, but the tweaked version is what makes your photos special! The first looks like an everyday picture you might take with your really nice camera (if you’re Lexi, of course)… the second is more like artwork. You can’t stop looking at it.
